Getting Started
All Referees in Alberta must be registered with the Alberta Soccer Association (ASA).
ASA uses a system called Ref Centre to keep track of registered Referees. Ref Centre is also the place where Referees can see and sign up for Referee courses.
BSA utilizes Assignr.com as a tool for Referees to declare their Availability and for Referee Game Assignments. Click here for more info.
Referees must pay the following (to ASA) in order to be registered with ASA:
- Mini (Referees 12 and 13 years old) Referee Course Registration - $50* (Non-refundable)
- Youth (Referees 14 and 15 years old) Referee Registration - $135* (Non-refundable)
- District (16 year old and over) Referee Registration - $150* (Non-refundable)
*NOTE: the above amounts are the 2018 costs of registering with ASA as a referee - see the Ref Courses page.
To referee for BSA, please fill out the Referee Application Form. (If you are a player in Beaumont use your TeamSnap email and password to login into TeamSnap. You can use your information already in TeamSnap to populate the form.) If you are not a player or registered in TeamSnap and want to referee in BSA games, email refs4soccer@gmail.com Please keep in mind that game assignment priority goes to BSA referees first.
You can sign up for an Initial Referee course (i.e. Mini or Entry Level) without being registered in Ref Centre, but you must be registered in order to see and sign up for a Refresher Course, and to be assigned games to referee as this is only available to registered Referees.
To get registered in Ref Centre go to Ref Centre Setup. Refer to the ASA Registration section below for more information on the ASA Referee Registration requirements.
If you are interested in becoming a Referee and have a question that cannot be answered by the information on these pages, please contact refs4soccer@gmail.com
